GREAT WOODY PLANTS FOR DISCERNING GARDENERS

Mike Yanny, Nurseryman, Poet and Plant Propagator

Have fun discovering the latest tree and shrub selections from this observant plantsman. Mike is always on the lookout for natives and exotics that bring something new and special to the landscape. Few people have spent as much time in the field examining, selecting, and propagating winning woody plants for the upper Midwest as Mike has.
Mike Yanny has been the plant propagator at Johnson’s Nursery, Inc. in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin since 1980. Mike has been responsible for developing numerous tree and shrub cultivars including: Firebird® Crabapple, Leprechaun™ Green Ash, Redwing® Viburnum. He has also has been instrumental in developing an extensive line of local ecotype native plants at Johnson’s Nursery.An avid Green Bay Packers fan, in his spare time he likes to read and write poetry.
